Jonathan is responsible for legal support to Booking.com's global product organisation, including enabling payment capabilities that facilitate seamless transactions across the Booking.com marketplace. As one of the largest global e-commerce companies with business in nearly every country and city on the planet, the product and payments landscape at Booking.com presents a unique set of legal challenges, and represents the changing face of global e-commerce in travel.
Prior to joining Booking.com, Jonathan worked at Uber during the transformative last few years up to and including listing on the NYSE. Jonathan was instrumental in the establishment of a global financial services infrastructure at Uber during this time that supports multiple platform-based products and market-changing innovations. Prior to that, Jonathan held a number of roles at American Express in London, where he helped to effect material business changes in the context of shifting regulatory context for payments, especially in Europe. Before joining American Express, Jonathan practiced anti-trust law with Ashurst, having switched to a legal career after beginning his working life initially in Public Affairs with APCO Worldwide.
