Kai Neuhaus is a partner at CMS and with his base in Brussels.
Kai is a German qualified lawyer specialising in competition and trade law, with a focus on the digital business. He advises and represents companies in all proceedings before the EU Commission, the German Federal Cartel Office, the European Court of Justice and the German courts.
Kai has been involved in numerous high-profile competition cases on digital markets. He is the lead competition counsel in the German Adblocker cases saga which recently lead to the Federal Court of Justice’s landmark decisions on the abuse of dominance in two-sided digital markets. He has advised IT and leading insurance companies in the joint creation of e-health services and traditional industry players in establishing an online marketing platform. In 2017 he was part of the team which won the "FT European Innovative Lawyer Award".
His clients include major manufacturing companies in the IT and consumer goods sectors and in the classical industries, chemicals and automotive sectors, as well as service providers from the digital industry, finance, insurance and media sectors.
For many years Kai has been listed as a "frequently recommended" lawyer in the German legal directory JUVE, both for competition and trade law.
